Rambert Dance Company

Comedy of Change Tour 2010

Live music by the Rambert Orchestra

Following the universal successes of Constant Speed (2005) and Eternal Light (2008), Artistic Director Mark Baldwin creates a brand new work that will tantalise the senses and stimulate the mind.

Commemorating Charles Darwin year, Comedy of Change is set to a specially commissioned score by renowned British composer Julian Anderson with production design by one of Paris' leading lights of contemporary art, Kader Attia. Rambert skilfully blends dance and science into a stunning, energetic and striking performance.

The programme also includes Hush, a lighthearted and affectionate look at family life by icon of British dance Christopher Bruce and Itzik Galili's sensational samba-inspired A Linha Curva, which has wowed audiences wherever it has been seen.

Rambert's 22 dancers are among the finest and most versatile in the world with uplifting live music superbly enhancing the experience.

The Comedy of Change
is commissioned by the Darwin Festival for Shrewsbury Theatre Severn.

Music supported by the Drummond fund and the Royal Philharmonic Society.

The Comedy of Change
is jointly supported by the BBSRC and the Wellcome Trust
Media Partner Sky Arts.
