Awakenings Tour 2010

Britain's national contemporary dance company returns to Stoke-on-Trent with its winning formula of imaginative, ambitious and high quality dance. This Autumn, Rambert is delighted to present its exciting new work, Awakenings. A collaboration between theatrical choreographer Aletta Collins and celebrated American composer Tobias Picker, this is the first dance interpretation of Oliver Sacks' book of the same name, made famous by the 1990 Hollywood film starring Robin Williams and Robert De Niro. Awakenings is a beautiful piece of dance full of high emotion, energy and drama.

Two further dance works, brand new to Stoke-on-Trent, will also be performed, including Christopher Bruce's gorgeously uplifting and award-winning Hush, and Itzik Galili's sensational samba-inspired A Linha Curva, which has wowed audiences wherever it has been performed.

With 22 of the world's finest dancers and incredible live music from the Rambert Orchestra, the Company continues to be at the very heart of British dance.
