An evening of work including the UK premiere of a new WDF commission by La?la Diallo (Canada/UK

Five
(2008)
Between the Shingle and the Dune (2005)
Imprint (2009)
'new work' (2010)

The evening brings together four short pieces by Canadian-born, Bristol-based choreographer Laïla Diallo. Having first come to prominence as a dancer with Wayne McGregor's Random Dance, Diallo has since attracted attention for her choreographic work. Through these four distinct pieces runs the thread of her search for some emotional resonance, for the wonder in simplicity, for the startling in the very human.

'Between the Shingle and the Dune is a vigorous, virtuous and poetic dance.'
Graham Watts, londondance

'One of the highlights of the festival was the première of Bristol based La?la Diallo’s new solo Imprint… a real joy to watch.'
Erin Whitcroft
