The Happy Prince

Peer Productions Youth Theatre presents The Happy Prince

Adapted from the story by Oscar Wilde
Music by David Perkins
Adaptation, Book and Lyrics by Caroline Dooley and David Perkins

This enchanting musical adaptation of Oscar Wilde's classic story, as relevant today as it was a hundred years ago, tells the tale of a town run by corrupt, self-serving, money-grabbing politicians. While the Mayor's daughter prepares to celebrate her engagement, other townspeople are starving. Who will save them? The angel trying to win her wings? The swallow trying to do a good deed? Or the statue of the Happy Prince, standing guard over his town? This charming fable includes comedy, tragedy and lots of memorable characters and songs.
