Carrie's War

Novel Theatre presents...

Nina Bawden’s Carrie’s War
Live on stage

Following the success of its 2006 premiere production, the acclaimed stage adaptation of Nina Bawden’s award-winning classic comes to the West End this Summer.

Carrie’s War is the timeless tale of the adventures of Carrie Willow; a young girl evacuated from London during World War II.  Packed off to the Welsh mining valleys with her younger brother Nick, she must adjust to life without her parents – under the guardianship of the dictatorial Mr Evans and his sister.

Returning as an adult, Carrie’s memories come alive; whisking us on a breathtaking journey into the past....

Meet the colourful and memorable characters she encountered - Mrs Gotobed, swotty Albert Sandwich, Hepzibah the ‘witch’ and the eccentric Mr Johnny; explore the freedom of the Welsh countryside, and discover the magic of Druid’s Bottom.....and the curse of the magic skull!
Remember; relive; discover; this unforgettable story of one ordinary girl - living and growing up through extraordinary times.

Featuring traditional songs and hymns and performed by a talented cast of nine, including Kacey Ainsworth and Prunella Scales.

Recommended  for ages 7+
